Settled

Our house hold goods arrived (5 hours late) on Sat. June 18th. A huge thank you to all of our friends and family who came and helped with serious manual labor carting all of our "stuff" into the house. Interestingly, there was much discussion among my brothers-in-law, who aren't avid readers, on all of the wonderful benefits of owning an e-reader such as a Kindle. Who knew they were so knowledgeable about Kindles? I wonder if that anything to do with the quantity of book boxes that were unloaded?

The following week we had almost half of the Domsalla family stay with us for a few days as they transitioned to their next assignment. We were sad to see them go but it was good to see them. Didn't get to see Deborah as she and the two youngest were already in AL awaiting the birth of their 5th baby, finally a girl. Claire arrived 4 days after Prof and the two oldest joined them. Way to time that, Deborah.

Oma came on July 1st to see us and be here for Jessica's 13th birthday. Following us from the last 2 assignments, our friends the Neilsons arrived yesterday from Edwards. Due to a mix up with their household goods delivery date, they are staying with us over the weekend until their stuff comes early next week.

The following week, we will celebrate Jessica's 13th birthday! It's hard to believe our baby girl will be 13th. Where has the time gone? At the end of next week, more friends, the Schrass family are coming to DC for vacation and we hope to meet up with them.

Somewhere during all of this activity,Scott started his new job. We've also enjoyed several days at our neighborhood pool and feel extremely welcomed and loved by all of our wonderful neighbors who have gone out of their way to make us feel welcomed. We've connected with old friends, the Merlos (no offense on the "old" part, Greg) whom we haven't seen in 15 years and I hope to connect with other "old friends" I know are living in the area but haven't had a free minute to connect with just yet.   We've already been able to celebrate a birthday of our nephew Logan since we've been here. We are thrilled to be so close to friends and family.

With all of the activity, busyness, and company, it already feels like home.
