We went on a field trip today to Tehachapi to a Wind Farm. (Or "Hachapi" as Connor calls it) We got to take a tour of the Wind Farm in Oak Creek Canyon. The first thing we learned is they are NOT called Wind Mills! We learned how Wind Turbine's are built and how they make electricity. They are mammoth! The one's I saw in Europe were larger but these were still pretty impressive. We were able to drive up to one and go inside and check out the inside.
Then of course, we went to the Apple Shed in Tehachapi for lunch. Yummy! Nothing like the Apple House (for those who read my blog and know exactly what I'm talking about) but it was still good food and a nice atmosphere.

What a cool idea! Field trip to a Wind Farm! Aaron would totally dig that. Angie set up a run for us last year where we were able to run pretty close to them. It's amazing the sounds they make as they whip around. Very cool!
Haven't been to the Apple House in a long time! So sad!
We went to he wind farm in Palm Springs a few years ago. I was surprised at how much noise the wind generated. It was a very windy place.
We stopped at the Apple House in May and bought a bag of apple doughnuts to eat on our drive to Tennessee
